METRES-YO ARTISTIC DESIGN-"KAFOU LEGBA"
Our Mission
At Kafou Legba, our mission is to explore Vodou as the primary ancestral spirituality of Haiti. We will study the history, diverse practices, and the countless loas that make up this rich Haitian spirituality. Additionally, we aim to provide a space for artists and artisans to display their work, particularly in Vodou art, and connect with the community. We envision a place where practitioners from various rites and practices can unite and share knowledge. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all artists and vodouisant.
Our History
We are dedicated to exploring Vodou as Haiti's primary spiritual tradition, a significant aspect of Haitian spirituality. Our focus is on understanding its history, diverse practices, and the numerous loas, including Kafou Legba, that form its core. We aim to promote cultural preservation and spiritual awareness through education and community engagement, while also highlighting the rich Vodou art that accompanies these traditions.
Our Network
Here, our community is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where vodouisant and artists of all backgrounds and skill levels can come together to explore Haitian spirituality and create Vodou art. Our site serves as a homegrown hub for small artists, spiritual leaders (manbo, hougan, practitioners, merchants), and thinkers to connect with the community. Additionally, it acts as a ONE-STOP-Medium. We offer a wide range of artistic cultural services, including Vodou artistic supplies, art, and IT services. The state-of-the-art site includes multiple levels of information. It encompasses research, digital art, painting, embroidery veve scarves, sculptures, a printmaking studio, and digital media. We also have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about supporting Vodou and preserving not only the tradition of Vodou but also the richness of Haitian culture and its artists, like Kafou Legba.
